Slow down for strangers

It rained continuously today, and it stopped until noon, and the sky gradually became clear. I have been working for a long time, and I especially want to walk outside and relax during lunch.

I walked to Huanhai Road and walked along the road. This road is built along the sea and has many bends. Because of the detour, there are fewer cars and fewer traffic lights on the road. The weather is bad today, there are no cars or people.

It had been raining for a long time, and occasionally there was still water on the roadside. As I strolled forward, I sighed that there were few cars today. If a car passes by, it will definitely splash water and wet the clothes of pedestrians.

At this moment, I heard the sound of a car engine behind me and subconsciously pulled over to the side of the road. In fact, I have nowhere to go. Further to the edge, there is a slightly deeper puddle. If you step into it, your shoes will get soaked. So, I stopped leaning to the side of the road. I just hoped that the car would drive by smoothly and avoid splashing water.

Unexpectedly, the car slowed down. I turned around and stood waiting. The car was getting slower and slower, and by the time it drove next to me, it was almost walking speed. The car passed me quietly without splashing any water. After the car reached a distance of more than ten meters in front of me, the driver slowly accelerated and drove away.

As I watched the friendly driver leave, I was filled with gratitude. The driver in the car knew that there was water on the roadside and it was not a big deal to slow down when seeing pedestrians. But he slowed down to the point where the car almost crawled past, just to ensure the safety of a stranger. His patience and sense of responsibility were touching.

Originally I just came out to relax, but I met some kind-hearted people. Being cared for by strangers you pass by is also a surprise. Every encounter like this in life is worth cherishing...
