[New Sancai Compilation and First Release] In 1991, the Belgian royal family adopted absolute primogeniture, which means that older sisters can inherit the throne over younger brothers. This makes Elisabeth, one year older, first in line to succeed King Philippe. The younger brother, Prince Gabriel, now turns 21 and is able to reflect in a humble way and with a sense of responsibility that he is part of history.

Prince Gabriel was born in Anderlech in 2003. He is the second oldest child in the family, with an older sister, a 17-year-old brother, Prince Emmanuel, and a 15-year-old sister, Princess Eleonore.
Prince Gabriel studied at St. John Berchmans College in Brussels and then completed his secondary education at the International School of Brussels.
Prince Gabriel is currently studying at the Royal Military Academy of Belgium. He is fluent in Dutch, French and English. Public information shows the blood relationship between the Belgian royal family and the British royal family. Leopold I (1790-1865), the first king of Belgium, was the uncle of Queen Victoria (1819-1901). Today's King Philippe of Belgium and King Charles of England have a common ancestor: Franz, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, 1750-1806.
