[New Sancai Compilation First Release] The U.S. House Oversight Committee is launching a government-wide investigation into China’s interference activities in the United States, including election influence, espionage, ties to the pharmaceutical industry, and corporate security.

Kentucky Republican Party Chairman James Comer sent a letter to nine agencies in the Biden administration asking for an investigation into resources used to combat China's undue influence in the United States.

"The Chinese Communist Party is waging war on the United States by targeting, influencing, and infiltrating every economic sector and community in the United States without firing a single bullet," Cuomo wrote in a statement on March 21. "We know that the Chinese Communist Party This coordinated influence and infiltration campaign threatens U.S. military readiness, technology sectors, financial markets, agriculture, education systems, and intellectual property rights."

"The lives and safety of all Americans are at stake."

Letters were sent to the Department of Justice, Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Agency for Global Media, Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, NASA, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the National Science Foundation.

"The Oversight Committee has a responsibility to ensure that the federal government takes all necessary actions to protect Americans from the Chinese Communist Party's ongoing political war," Cuomo's statement continued. "The actions taken by the committee today are just the beginning, and I look forward to the full strength of the agencies." Cooperate in an effort to thwart China's efforts to influence and infiltrate the United States."

Cuomo’s investigation seeks to understand what steps are being taken to thwart China’s campaign of political and economic warfare. Cuomo said more U.S. agencies will be asked to provide information on how to fight China's war, and he will host multiple hearings to address this national security threat.

Former President Donald Trump's administration sought to use a new trade deal with China to force China to address unfair trade practices, including forced technology transfers and intellectual property theft.

Cuomo's letter came hours after Reuters published a report on the Trump administration's CIA operations against China in 2019.

Three former officials told Reuters that the CIA established a small team of agents who used online identities to share Xi Jinping's government's narrative with overseas news media.

According to Reuters, the CIA team made accusations that members of the ruling Communist Party were hiding ill-gotten gains overseas and slammed China's Belt and Road Initiative, which finances infrastructure projects in developing countries, as corrupt and wasteful. .
