[New Sancai Compilation and First Release] French photographer Brassaï (1899-1984) was originally named Gyula Halasz. He was born in Hungary and moved to Paris, France in 1925. This coincided with the cultural shock in Paris at that time. He had an indissoluble bond with the Surrealist movement, as well as with artists such as Picasso, Dali, and Matisse. He was praised by his friend Henry Valentine Miller as The "Eye of Paris" in photography.

Brassaï used his camera to record various aspects of life in Paris at that time - from working-class neighborhoods to symbolic monuments, from portraits of artist friends to graffiti and nightlife, allowing readers to get a glimpse of Paris at that time. "Paris de nuit" (Paris at Night) is his first photography book. He is considered one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century.

Below are some photos taken by Brassaï in Paris in the 1930s.
