[New Sancai Compilation First Release] Another new Boeing whistleblower has come forward, claiming the planemaker ignored safety issues in the production of its 787 and 777 jetliners, according to a complaint filed by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Sam Salehpour, a Boeing engineer who worked on the 787 Dreamliner, told the New York Times that much of the plane's fuselage is made up of multiple components from different manufacturers that cannot be completely assembled together.

Salepour's lawyer told Congress on April 9 that the engineer witnessed Boeing using shortcuts to cut 787 production costs, thereby significantly shortening the aircraft's service life.

Attorneys Debra Katz and Lisa Banks said in a statement, "Our client identified serious safety issues and did everything possible to bring them to the attention of Boeing officials. "

"Despite the known and well-documented issues raised by Mr. Salepour, Boeing did not heed his warnings and instead prioritized getting the aircraft to market as quickly as possible."

Salepour is the second Boeing whistleblower to come forward in recent months. Boeing whistleblower and quality manager John Barnett made headlines in March when he was found dead in his truck in a hotel parking lot. The Charleston County Coroner's Office in South Carolina ruled Barnett's death appeared to be a "self-inflicted gunshot wound," The Times reported. After Barnett's death, a close family friend recalled to local news outlets that Barnett told her, "If anything happens, it's not a suicide."

Boeing later told The Times that it had "full confidence in the 787 Dreamliner" and that "these claims about the structural integrity of the 787 are inaccurate and do not represent what Boeing is doing to ensure the quality and long-term safety of the aircraft." Work across the board.”
