[New Sancai Compilation and First Release] There are several areas in the world where the life expectancy of residents is higher than the average. New York Times best-selling author and National Geographic researcher Dan Buettner has spent 20 years studying the lifestyles of people in longevity areas, including Okinawa, Japan, Sardinia, Italy, Ikaria, Greece, and Costa Rica. Nicoya and Loma Linda, California.

According to media reports, the 63-year-old journalist learned some habits from the people he observed in these areas and now applies them to his own life.

"I know how long they lived as a group, and I certainly learned from their experience," he said. "My doctor told me I am in the top 1% of healthy people my age."

Here are Bitner's daily habits to stay healthy:

•Walk. Buettner said he moved to Miami Beach because he could easily walk around the neighborhood without having to plan athletic events.

•Eat a plant-based diet. Buettner said his diet is about 90 percent plant-based and he eats no meat at all. He will also eat within 10 to 12 hours. "I usually eat two meals a day," he explains. "One in the morning and one in the evening." His favorite food is beans, because eating beans every day can extend your life by four years.

•Build social connections. Buettner says the research on the impact of social connections in helping us live longer is solid. He said he often meets people in the community, some of whom have become friends. Because he writes during the day, he gets together with people every night.

•Do not work after 5 p.m. Bittner said that even if he made more money, compromising this rule would not bring him happiness. "At five o'clock, it's always sports and social time," he added.

•Do some physical activity every day. Instead of practicing daily meditation, the expert enjoys engaging in physical activities that he enjoys, such as stand-up paddle boarding, bicycling, pickleball, or playing sports with friends.

•sleep. After a night of activities and socializing, Buettner aims for eight hours of sleep. "If you get a good night's sleep, you'll be a lot less stressed," he said.
