The University of Michigan recently conducted a poll on the health of the elderly and found that 90% of people between the ages of 50 and 80 said that music is helpful to their health.

Three-quarters of people said that music can help them relieve stress, 65% of people said that music helps their mental health and stabilize their emotions, and about 60% of people said that music can enhance their psychological vitality. Overall, respondents said music was important to them.

A professor at the University of Michigan Medical School who participated in the survey said that music can bring joy to life and make life interesting. Music has been integrated into human existence. He also said that music can alleviate many minor diseases related to aging. He said at the press conference that music has a positive effect on hypertension and depression, which is known to everyone.

Most of the elderly people interviewed said they like listening to music, with 85% of them listening to music several times a week, and 80% of them having watched videos of music performances in the past year. Forty percent of the elderly even attend live music concerts. The survey also found that respondents with average or poor physical health and those who are lonely rarely listen to music.
